PLEASURABLE ONES

Since these people love to have fun, we will call them the Pleasurable Ones. These people are always happy. They like to have fun. They’re the one that mingle at parties and you will always hear them over the entire crowd, since their laugh is powerful. They enjoy connecting with new people. They love to tell funny stories. They are great entertainers and story tellers. They like to perform and be the star of the show. If there is no show, they will create one. They want everyone to have fun. Everything is going at the speed of light in their world. If they would choose a vehicle, it would definitively be a rocket with enough fuel to go fast, fast, fast, and never stop. Unfortunately, they have been known to smash things and even run into a few walls. However, they just bounce back and laugh at their actions. Everything is fun, pleasurable to them.

They always have the biggest smile. They even smile when they are on the phone talking to someone. They will find something funny in the weirdest situation. They are the ones that would laugh or chuckle at a funeral.

Pleasurable Ones can be very talkative. One thing about pleasurable people is that if they are not on a high, they might be found in a very low-low, thus bringing accusation of not being very stable. But they will tell you that they are stable because they are always looking for fun and everybody is welcomed.

Words that Pleasurable Ones are going to use are: “Really?” (with a chuckle of course), “happy”, “good time”, “funny”, “great”, and of course “fun”.

When a Pleasurable One feels welcomed and understood, they are at their best. They are enthusiastic, optimistic, and inspirational, they have a great sense of humor, they enjoy and love people, and they are very sincere at heart.

Tick them off and then they are at their lowest. They will talk too much, exaggerate, what they say seems phony, they forget responsibilities, they will have no discipline, and they will be easily distracted as if they are looking for something more interesting or fun to do.

Since Pleasurable Ones are constantly looking for fun activities to do, that might irritate the other temperamental people because the others are more likely to rationalize everything and there must have some kind of limit to having fun all the time. And of course, the Pleasurable Ones will just smile and say: “No” and go hit another wall and laugh. Why would you want to limit fun? That is what gives life and energy. And then the other people would tell them: “We used to be like you, but we grew up”. Which is not the right thing to say to a Pleasurable One because that makes them feel very small.

Pleasurable Ones want to be part of a “Fun” life. You could quite compare them to “Joy” in the movie “Inside out”. To be part of never ending joy story is their goal. They like to be with other people because they don’t like being alone. They like everyone. They don’t even see anything wrong with anyone. Everyone is pleasurable to them. They are light-hearted, likable and find something funny to say about almost everything.

The strongest need about Pleasurable Ones is to accept them as they are and the way they act. Being noticed is their deep emotional need. If not noticed, they can become depressed and discouraged and will be known to be looking in the wrong places for love and attention. The catch 22 with this scenario is most of all other people find that they have had enough attention and will stop giving to the Pleasurable Ones what they so desperately need: being noticed, and it doesn’t matter if they are goofing around, bumping their head on something or telling a good joke.

I had won this contest and 24 of us from this firm had been flown to Puerto Rico for 10 days all expenses paid. At one point of our journey, we were on a boat and this one lady was just having fun all the time. I really liked her because I am part Pleasurable Ones. She was singing all kind of songs that we could easily sing along with her. This other person couldn’t stand her at all. Possible was a Refined One, which we talk about in another page of the webinar. At one point, the Refined One started shouting at her very angrily: “What’s the matter with you? Are you crazy? You haven’t stopped acting weird since we arrived”. Well, everyone just stopped whatever they were doing and just looked at the Pleasure One to see what was going to happen. She was singing the song “99 bottles of beer” and was at 79. She turned around and saw that everyone was looking at her.  For a few seconds, we didn’t know what was going to happen. But she just turned around and continued singing as if nothing had happen, which just made us laugh and have more fun.  That is a true of Pleasurable One… lol…

Probably the greatest opposite to Pleasurable Ones are Refined Ones. Pleasurable Ones can really get on Refined Ones’ nerves and can be quite annoyed and driven crazy by Pleasurable Ones. Pleasurable Ones don’t care if their desk is all messed up, while this would make the Refined Ones go absolutely crazy. Having those two in a marriage would need a lot of understanding the other and giving each other a breather once in a while. One will forget where they parked the car at the mall and find it funny, while the other just can’t understand how they can find that funny. AND worst of all, the Pleasurable One can’t wait to tell this embarrassing story to other people at a party… lol.

So to summarize what a Pleasurable One is, we would definitively have to say that they like to have fun; they need the approval for the way they act, they want to go fast and don’t care what happens. It will be funny, anyway. They need a lot of people around. Their language is always with a smile and they like to say words like: “Really?”, “happy”, “good time”, “funny” and “great”. They accentuate their voice with highs and lows, they are very chatty, there is humor in everything and they even smile on the phone.

At their best they would be enthusiastic, optimistic, inspirational, great sense of humor, loves everyone and very sincere.

At their worst they talk too much, will exaggerate, they will sound phony, and they become irresponsible, undisciplined and become very distracted.

Next week, we will be looking at a combination of traits.
