Note: Its active ingredients are principally sesquiterpenes, monoterpenols, double ketones, diones (7% -14%) as well as ketones (1.5% – 3%).
- There are over 600 different species of Helichrysum Italicum, and it’s commonly referred to by other names, such as Everlasting, Immortelle or the Curry Plant.
- It grows on dry, rocky or sandy ground around the Mediterranean.
- The stems are woody at the base and can reach 60cm or more in height.
- The clusters of yellow flowers are produced in Summer, and they retain their color after picking.

- In the Mediterranean region, Helichrysum has been used for its medicinal properties for thousands of years, especially in countries like Italy, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Some sources even report that Helichrysum flowers were dried and offered to the Greek Gods.
- Sometimes, this essential oil may be adulterated with other aromatic plants that smell like Helichrysum. Young Living never does this.
- The 100% pure and undiluted Helichrysum essential oil is made fully from the flowers of Helichrysum Italicum.
- Neryl acetate is sensitive to climatic factors at the time of picking the flowers, therefore it needs a high degree of quality and technological equipment to control the process.
- The essential oil extracted is analyzed by chromatography. Lots that have lower amounts of the key constituent neryl acetate are not used by Young Living.
- In Canada, Helichrysum is used in PanAway Essential Oil.
- In other parts of the world, Young Living uses Helichrysum in other essential oil blends and personal products.
- Helichrysum oil is described as having a sweet and fruity smell, with honey or nectar overtones and has a grounding quality.
- Inhale to act as a nervine and calmative which enhances relaxation.
- Inhale to reduce the symptoms of cold & cough.
- When experiencing digestive discomfort can act as a carminative and antispasmodic.
- Apply 2-4 drops to the affected area.
- Help reduce the symptoms of acne or boils.

- Experience relief from eczema and dermatitis.
Mix the following ingredients in a glass jar:
- 10 drops Young Living Helichrysum essential oil
- 10 drops Young Living Frankincense essential oil
- 3/4 cup coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons shea butter
Place a saucepan with two inches of water on the stove over medium/low heat.
Place the jar in the saucepan and stir contents until ingredients start to melt.
Once all ingredients are combined, spread on the body and then store in a cool place for later.
